La Bayadère - Berlin State Ballet, 2018
Alexei Ratmansky continues his reconstructions of the Marius Petipa classics with La Bayadère for the Berlin State Ballet/Staatsballett Berlin. The original choreography is reconstructed with the Stepanov notations preserved at the Sergeyev Collection at Harvard University, the spirit of the age with extensive archival research. The ballet was created in 1877, the notations were made during a revival in 1900. Sets and costumes are by Jérôme Kaplan, light design by Linus Fellbom. The premiere took place at the Berliner Staatsoper on 4 November 2018. Photography dating from November 2, with the premiere cast led by Polina Semionova (Nikiya), Alejandro Virelles (Solor) and Yolanda Correa (Gamzatti).
